It was a long day, but defiantly worth the drive. After nearly a three hour drive from Sarasota to Daytona and then another three hours back, I was really tired. I logged about 360 miles and took hundreds of shots at the Daytona International Speedway 2010 Nascar Media Day. I was fortunate enough to interview and chat with several of the drivers from the Camping World Truck Series, Nationwide Series and the Sprint Cup Series. Here are a couple of photos from the shoot.

I had the privilege of going to the Champions Junior Golf Tour / Youth Golf of America tournament last week to photography the young golfers and Chi Chi Rodriguez. It was AWESOME! Chi Chi spent about an hour and a half with the kids and then gave a demonstration on “the short game.” He was great with the kids and even took time out for a quick photo with me. Here are a few select shots from the tournament.

This is Eli. One month old. It was obvious to me from the first photo I took he would be a great model. He relaxed throughout the whole session and we got some great shots.

Here is a photo of President Barack Obama’s customized Boeing 747-200B (tail code SAM 29000) - Also know as AIR FORCE ONE while the president is on board. This shot was taken shortly after the president left the Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport and headed to Desoto County to tour Florida Power and Light’s Next Generation Solar Energy Center.

Here is one of the Marine helicopters that was at the airport today.

Did somebody call security? Just moments after arriving at the airport. I got a glimpse of the Secret Service searching this guy and going through his car. Not something you see everyday at the Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport.
Security was indeed high at the airport. This sheriff looks like he means business. I can almost bet those aren’t toy guns.

Freezing cold at Baxter State Park with a wind chill of 14 degrees. YES 14. Me and my photo buddy Kent arrived at sunrise to “Shoot” the moose. My weapon of choice is my handy dandy NIKON. Upon signing in at the ranger station we saw we were only the second group out on the lake. We were walking on the trail to our spot and came across a moose cow and then a bull moose followed. It was huge and walked in front of us about 30 yards. As you can see by the focal point, I wasn’t ready. Rain and snow were coming down, I had my camera rain gear on and my gloves. Unfortunately this was the best shot I got, but it was so cool. Sounds like a fish story, but at least I had some proof. If I were only a boy scout when I was younger and followed their motto “Always be Prepared.”

We followed this moose for about an hour. She walked the entire edge of the pond and wasn’t shy at all. Snow, rain and wind didn’t bother her, but I was cold!
Exciting arrival at Baxter State Park, Maine, I saw my first snowfall of the season and it was beautiful. I had to stop off the trail and grab this shot of the snowy evergreens.

Driving up the road, had to make yet another stop on the side of the road. I’m not exactly sure what type of bird this is, but it definatly caught my eye. I took about five minutes and followed this little fellow around and was happy to see some new wildlife.

The colors here are some of the most amazing I have ever seen. Yet another pull-off on the side of the road for a photoshoot. This shoot was taken on our way to Baxter State Park in the town of Millinocket. The reflections in the water stopped us in our tracks. Next Stop……MOOSE
I’m not know as an early bird, but we woke up at 5 a.m. and drove over to the Portland Headlight to get some sunrise shots. Another great day for photos. Two lighthouses in two days, what a great way to start off the trip.

Too many colors, so little time. Taking back roads to our destination, we must have made 20 or 30 quick stops to get out and enjoy the fall colors. This is one of the images taken during our drive over to Baxter State Park.

A quick stop in Bristol, Maine to see Pemaquid Point light. Well worth the stop. Another gorgeous day and later went up into the lighthouse for a great view. Working hard to get this shot, I ended up getting down on my belly on the cold rocks so I could grab this great reflection.

After arriving in New Hampshire, we rushed over to York, Maine to get a glimpse of the Nubble Light House. This is my first lighthouse photo and I don’t think I could have been more fortunate with the conditions. The lighting was excellent for shooting photographs and the temperature was great if your a local, but for this Florida Boy, i’d call it ”chilly”. After shooting I headed across the parking lot to Fox’s Lobster House and enjoyed a wonderful lobster dinner.
